I have waited a bit to write my review, I wanted to try this out in various training conditions and distances.
In the past I have struggled with consuming nutrition/electrolytes that wouldn't have an adverse affect on my system. Let's be honest, who wants to end up with gut distress (read I need a bathroom NOW) at any point in a training run or race? I also struggled with heartburn issues from fuel and electrolyte sources. Often I would forego consuming electrolytes and just focus on nutrition and hydration. BAD idea. I am amazed at how much difference it makes to keep your body well supplied with electrolytes.
I have used Tailwind on short hour long runs all the way up to marathon distance runs. I am in training for a 100 mile trail ultra, so mileage is only going up from here! I've used it in hot humid conditions, mild conditions, and cool conditions. I will say that in the hotter humid conditions it is wise to dilute the mix a little more, but it still works fantasticly.
I am happy to report that Tailwind holds up to it's promise, and it's truly ALL you need. Yes, I was skeptical on my first long run, but I put complete faith in it, and it held up extremely well. I love that I can mix this up in my hydration pack and I don't need to bring anything else with me. I can easily sip it as I move along the trail, no worries about face planting while trying to eat additional nutrition.
I used to be prone to horrible foot/leg/body cramps both during runs and post run. Since using the Tailwind products, these have vanished! I'm so glad I decided to take the Tailwind challenge!!
The flavors are awesome, I ordered the Lemon, Mandarin Orange, caffinated Raspberry, and the Naked version. I love them all. They are light in flavor, mix easily, and easy to digest. Bottom line, this product is awesome. Order it now.
